Bringing the latest fashion trend to a small town in rural Myanmar

“With the micro loan received from ASGB, I invested in buying more clothes in various fashions and then I could fulfill my customers’ needs and wants. As a result, I can make a profit. I would like to say Thank You to ASGB for giving me a chance to expand my business.”

Mrs. Lae Lae Win is the owner of a successful clothing shop in Minhla township, which she started in 2017. Once a month she buys fashionable clothing from large clothing wholesale shops in Migalar Zay selecting fabric and styles in mostly women’s wear based on her customers’ needs ordered online.

Mrs. Lae Lae Win said by starting up her shop at her home she didn’t need to worry about rental fees like other owners. Moreover, she kept her shop open during the COVID-19 period, although other shops in the downtown area were closed. Her ongoing relationship with ASGB started in 2018 when the friendly loan staff came to her place and introduced some different loan products that would suit her business. Since 2018 she has had three loans including the special Business Recovery Loan.
