Donation to Inle Lake following devastating earthquake
On 28 March 2025, an earthquake struck central Myanmar, affecting millions of people across the country. It also inflicted severe damage in Inle Lake, Shan State leaving many losing their lives, homes, and access to essential services.
In response, ASG Bancorp Microfinance delivered donation directly to communities in Inle Lake, to contribute to the fund to rebuild their home. Many villagers in Inle Lake live in floating houses, a unique feature of life; many of those houses were partially submerged or structurally compromised by the earthquake.
During this trip, we donated to a total of 325 families in 6 villages and a total of 7 Buddhist monasteries in Inla Lake as listed in the table below.
