Better managing credit risks and protecting borrowers through MCIX
In partnership with Myanmar Microfinance Association (MMFA) and ThitsaWorks, MCIX has been developed as an independent network and trusted technical solution that provides 57 Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) serving 3.9 million borrowers with business credit intelligence within an ethical, legal, and professional framework. It facilitates information exchange between MFIs in Myanmar to minimise bad credit and appropriately manage credit risk promoting transparency in the transactional behaviours of debtors. The information sharing allows for control and monitoring of multiple and overlapping loans while protecting the privacy of clients in the interest of MFIs, clients and the overall financial sector.
Since ASGB is part of the MMFA membership, we have the privilege to access the MCIX portal easily and have access to the credit data which is shared by the MCIX members in a secure environment. We believe it will assist with further collaboration within the MFI sector for the common goal of financial inclusion and client protection.
By leveraging the opportunity to collaborate, we hope that we empower our clients while improving our loan assessment capabilities and operational efficiencies. We continue to endeavour to provide the best services to our valuable customers with the most efficient and innovative practices in this rapidly changing environment.
