Participating in Digital Financial Literacy Training

In May 2023, ASGB operation staff participated in the 2-day Digital Financial Literacy Program (DFL) TOT training organised by ThitsaWorks.

For the last few years, we have been undergoing digital transformation – digitalization of loan applications, collections and repayments through Digital Field Application. While digital technology brings a number of advantages including efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy, it also poses a risk to users such as cyber-attack or digital financial frauds.

Digital financial literacy (DFL) is about the knowledge, skills, confidence and competencies to safely use digitally delivered financial products and services in order to make smart financial decisions. To contribute to the improvement of literacy and capability among our clients, we are partnering with ThitsaWorks to provide DFL training for our customers. As a part of Ready Set Go Digital project funded by USAID’s (U.S. Agency for International Development), our trained staff will deliver DFL training in order to enhance the knowledge of DFL and safely adopt digital financial services among our loan officers and clients – mostly women-operated micro/small/medium enterprises.

The training covers the use of mobile wallets and digital currency as well as effective financial management. We are excited to share that valuable knowledge that we learnt with our customers and contribute to the society where people can utilise digital finance tools safely and effectively.
